A 'Transistor' is a semiconductor device, commonly used to amplify or switch electronic signals. They are generally packaged in integrated circuits. Transistor is basically a substitute to vacuum tubes.
Types of Transistor
Transistor is available in several types, depending upon uses. Bipolar junction transistor, Field-effect transistor, Hetrojunction bipolar transistor, and Dual gate FETs is very important among all its type.
Application of Transistor
Transistor is more cost effective and efficient for trans-resistance job. It is used in electronic switches, as an amplifier in mobile phone to television for sound reproduction, radio transmission, signal processing, and integrated circuits.
