Jacks are communication connectors and with 8-6 position conductors used as a mechanical interface for Ethernet and electrical appliances. Spring tension in the jack's conductors ensures a good interface with the plug and allow for slight travel during insertion and removal.
Variants
Some variants of sockets and jack are RJ11, Cate5e, tool-free, shielded and cate6 jacks. Sockets include fuse sockets and IC sockets.
