Switchgears Overview
Switchgears are devices associate with electric power system, or grid. Its a combination of fuses and circuit breakers used to isolate electrical equipment by de-energizing and or by clearing faults downstream.
Type of Switchgears
A piece of switchgear may be a simple open air isolator or it may be insulated by some other substance. Gas Insulated Switchgears (SF6-sulfur hexafluoride gas) are costly but more effective, Oil circuit, Vacuum circuit, Air circuit breaker is other example of switchgears.
Functions
